Presentations and Shadow Program
We work with our community to foster a love of pets and their care.
Our team at Animal Hospital of Fort Lauderdale is deeply committed to fostering education and engaging with our community. We believe that sharing knowledge about veterinary medicine and responsible pet ownership benefits pets, pet owners, and future generations of pet parents and veterinary professionals. Our team enjoys working closely with schools, community groups, and organizations to provide valuable insights into various aspects of veterinary care.
Below are some of the programs and presentations we offer to educate and inspire others about the world of veterinary medicine.
Veterinary Job Shadowing Program
Our Shadow Program is designed for students in Broward County who are considering a career in veterinary medicine.
By partnering with local public and private schools, we offer students the unique opportunity to spend a day shadowing our veterinarians and veterinary team during their daily routine. This immersive experience allows students to observe client appointments, diagnostic work-ups, patient treatments, surgeries, and post-surgical care. By getting a hands-on feel for the day-to-day responsibilities of a veterinarian, students gain invaluable insight into what it takes to pursue a career in this rewarding field.
If you know (or are) a young member of our community who aspires to become a veterinarian or work in the animal care field, our job shadowing program may be the perfect fit! Those interested in setting up a time to shadow should give us a call at (954) 561-8777.

Career Day Presentations
Our veterinarians love participating in Career Day presentations at local elementary, middle, and high schools. These events provide us with the chance to inspire young minds and offer guidance to those interested in pursuing veterinary medicine as a profession. During these presentations, our veterinarians share their experiences, discuss the challenges and rewards of the field, and answer questions from students. It’s an opportunity to spark curiosity and encourage the next generation of veterinary medicine professionals.

Classroom Presentations
We have created engaging classroom presentations for elementary and private grade schools, focusing on the roles of veterinarians and the importance of responsible pet ownership. Using visual aids and sometimes bringing along pets (with prior approval), our presentations are designed to captivate young students’ attention and teach them about the care and well-being of animals. Our goal is to instill a sense of responsibility in students, helping them understand the importance of taking good care of their pets and why veterinary care matters.

Educational Presentations
Our veterinarians are passionate about sharing their knowledge with a broader audience through educational presentations. We have lectured both locally and nationally to dog clubs, community groups, and organizations on a wide range of veterinary topics, including reproduction, frozen semen, bloat, stem cell therapy, pet first aid, canine influenza, allergies in pets, nutrition, and low-level laser therapy. These presentations are created to meet the specific interests of each group, and we are always eager to participate in educational events.
