Our independently-owned practice operates out of a spacious 6,000-square-foot, free-standing facility conveniently located just minutes away from the beautiful beaches of Fort Lauderdale. We are proud to offer comprehensive veterinary services, including internal medicine work-ups, in-house laboratory diagnostics, digital X-ray, ultrasound, CO2 surgical laser procedures, surgery, stem cell therapy, and advanced reproductive services, including our own frozen semen bank and shipping facility.

Our externship program will enhance your education and prepare you for a successful career in veterinary medicine.
As an extern at Animal Hospital of Fort Lauderdale, you will be immersed in various aspects of veterinary practice, from small animal medicine and surgery to emergency care and client communication. You’ll work closely with our experienced veterinarians and technicians, who are committed to mentoring and guiding you through complex cases. Our state-of-the-art facility provides access to the latest technology and equipment, enabling you to gain valuable experience with advanced diagnostic tools, surgical suites, and laboratory services.
Externs will also benefit from exposure to diverse cases, from routine check-ups to emergency procedures, broadening your understanding of veterinary practice. We focus on professional development, helping you build essential skills such as client communication, team collaboration, and time management. Whether you are a veterinary student looking to fulfill clinical rotations or a veterinary technician student eager to build on your skills, our externship program offers a comprehensive and enriching experience.
We have been providing 6-week externship rotations for students at HCI College’s Veterinary Assisting Program since the program’s inception in 2022.
