State law requires that all dogs be vaccinated against rabies, distemper, and parvovirus.

In addition, some dogs should be vaccinated for leptospirosis, and if involved socially with other dogs, such as at day-care, dog parks or boarding, your dog should be given the Bordetella vaccine. Puppies require a series of vaccines to build up immunity and then annual boosters to maintain that immunity. Talk to one of our veterinarians to determine which vaccines are right for your dog.

We also utilize titers (a blood test) to measure the immunity level of the distemper and parvovirus vaccines given annually to your dog. If your dog maintains a high enough level of immunity, these annual boosters may not be necessary. Discuss these options with one of our veterinarians.

Cats also require vaccines.

State law requires all cats be vaccinated annually against rabies. In addition, all cats must be vaccinated against panleukopenia, feline viral rhinotracheitis and calici virus, then boostered every 3 years to maintain that immunity.  Some cats should be vaccinated against Feline Leukemia, then boostered every 2 years to maintain immunity. Kittens require a series of vaccines to build up immunity and then boosters to maintain that immunity. Talk to one of our veterinarians to determine which vaccines are right for your cat.
